To check your e-mail settings:
Open OutLook Express
You can cancel the dial up if you do not need to log on or you can log on to do this.
Click on Tools
Click on Accounts
Click on the Mail tab
Click on the mail.hillcountry.net to highlight
Click on Properties to the right
Click on the Servers tab
Delete and retype the mail settings for incoming (POP3) and outgoing (SMTP) mail.
They should read:
mail.hillcountry.net
For the "Incoming Mail Server" account name, put your FULL email address, e.g. username@hillcountry.net
Check the "Remember password" box if you wish
Make sure that the following is NOT CHECKED: Log on using Secure Password Authentication
For "Outgoing Mail Server" make sure the following IS CHECKED: My server requires authentication
and click on the "Settings" tab, click in the "Log on using" button, and put in your FULL email
address, e.g. username@hillcountry.net and then your password and check "Remember password" if you wish.
Make sure that the following is NOT CHECKED: Log on using Secure Password Authentication
Click on the "Advanced" tab, make sure to check the settings for "This server requires a secure connection" and the outgoing port is 25, the incoming port is 995.
Click on "Apply" then "OK" then "close" on the Internet Accounts window.
You may also need to disable your anti-virus program, reboot your computer and then re-enable anti-virus.
