To set up Internet Explorer and Outlook Express please do the following:
Right click on the blue E for internet explorer on the desk top of the computer.
You should get a window that opens and says:
Open
Explorer
Open Home page
Create Shortcut
Delete
Rename
Properties
Click on Properties
Under the General tab (first tab)
You can change the home page. Delete what is in there and type in the following:
http://www.hillcountry.net
click on apply on the bottom right hand side of the window.
Then click on the Connections tab top center of the page.
Click on Setup first button on the right side.
This will kick you into the Internet Connection Wizard.
You want to click on the third paragraph (usually) that states you can set up your connection manually
Click Next
You connect through a phone line and a modem
Click Next
The phone number for our local dialup numbers is also located here. If you have call waiting on the phone type it as follows: *70,3200082 (or the number for your area).
Uncheck the box below the United Stated of America that states use area code and dialing properties.
Click Next
Enter your username and password
Click Next
The connection name should be Hillcountry.Net
Click Next
Click on Yes
Create New/ or it may take you directly to Display Name
Click Next
Type in e-mail address (ex. johndoe@hillcountry.net)
Click Next
Both the incoming and outgoing e-mail servers are:
mail.hillcountry.net
Click Next
type in your password
Click Next
Click Finish and you are ready to log on to the Internet
